WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) invites the Greater Lafayette community to visit any PEFCU branch on Thursday, December 3, for a special identity theft and fraud lobby day.
One in five consumers becomes a victim of some kind of identity theft each year. The results can be devastating: damage to one’s credit report, average monetary losses of $1,200 or more, and nearly 30 hours of personal time spent to resolve the issue. Those who attend the lobby day will:
- Learn about the latest identity theft and fraud scams
- Sign up for free services that safeguard your accounts
- Learn the security features of money orders and other negotiable items
Individuals who sign up for PEFCU eAlerts will receive a free stain remover stick.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided by the Yellow Bowl Bakery.
